Every answer starts with one of six care levels, so the most important part, how soon to get care, is never buried.
The safety rules run before any AI. They are written from public guidance, from the CDC, the NHS and the American Heart Association among others. If they find an emergency sign, you get the emergency answer right away. The AI can raise the level, never lower it.

What can't MySymptom do?
- It can't tell you for sure what is causing a symptom. Only a clinician who examines you can.
- It is not an emergency service. If you think it's an emergency, call 911 first.
- There are no doctors, nurses or vets on staff, and no one is reviewing your answer live.
- The safety rules follow public guidance and are tested against more than 200 example cases, but a clinician has not reviewed them yet.
- AI can be wrong. When in doubt, the care level leans toward more care, not less.
- The app is in English. Accounts are for adults 18 and over.

What is MySymptom?
MySymptom is a free app that helps you understand a symptom and decide what kind of care you need. You describe what is going on for you, your child, an older parent or your pet. It checks for warning signs first, then explains what the symptom can be related to and gives one of six care levels, from Call 911 now to Care for it at home.
Is MySymptom free?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no paid tier and no card. Hourly limits on questions keep the service running for everyone. Some articles show ads, and only if you agree to them.
Can MySymptom tell me what I have?
No. It can't tell you for sure what is causing a symptom. It explains what the symptom can be related to, how urgent it looks and what to ask a clinician. Only a clinician who examines you can tell you what is wrong.
How does MySymptom decide how urgent it is?
Safety rules written from public guidance, from groups like the CDC, the NHS and the American Heart Association, check your words and your answers to a few yes or no questions for warning signs. That happens before any AI runs. If a rule finds an emergency sign, you get the emergency answer right away. The AI can raise the care level but never lower it.
Should I use MySymptom in an emergency?
If you think it is an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number first. Don't wait for an app. MySymptom puts the emergency number first when it finds an emergency sign, but it does not replace emergency services.
Can I ask about my child?
Yes. Choose My child and give their age. Age changes the advice. For example, any fever in a baby under 3 months old gets Go to the ER now. Warning signs for children follow guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the NHS.
Can I ask about my dog or cat?
Yes. Pet questions get vet framing, a check for common poisons like chocolate, xylitol, grapes and lilies, and the pet poison lines. MySymptom is not a substitute for veterinary care, and there are no vets on staff.
Do I need an account?
No. You can ask questions and use Today without signing in, and your entries stay on your device. An account keeps your history in sync across devices.
What happens to my health information?
Signed out, your entries stay in your browser. Signed in, they are stored in your account and only you can read them. What you type and the photos you add are sent to NVIDIA's AI service to write the answer. We never sell your data and never send health details to analytics or ads.
Where do the answers come from?
The care level comes from the safety rules. The explanation is written by AI models running on NVIDIA's AI service, then checked by code that removes odds, doses and product suggestions. Links under an answer go to public pages, such as MedlinePlus, matched to the warning signs and topics in your answer. Not every sentence has its own source.
Has a doctor reviewed MySymptom?
Not yet, and we won't pretend otherwise. MySymptom is built by its founder, who is not a clinician. The safety rules follow public guidance and are tested against more than 200 example cases, but no clinician has reviewed them yet. This page will say so when that changes.
Can I share what I find with my doctor?
Yes. The Visit Brief puts the symptom, timeline, medicines and your questions on one page you can print, save as a PDF or share with a link that expires. It is labeled as self reported, not a medical record.
Can I use MySymptom on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. The Install page shows how for iPhone, Android and desktop.
