Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and MySymptom when you use mysymptom.ai. The most important part: MySymptom gives general health information. It is not medical or veterinary advice, and it is not an emergency service.
Effective October 20, 2026
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using MySymptom you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
2. Not medical advice, not an emergency service
- MySymptom gives general health information. It can't tell you for sure what is causing a symptom, it does not provide medical or veterinary care, and using it does not create a doctor and patient, or vet and client, relationship.
- Care levels, explanations and other content are guidance to help you decide what to do next. Always use your own judgment and ask a clinician or vet when in doubt.
- Never ignore professional advice, or wait to get care, because of something you read on MySymptom.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US) right away. Do not rely on MySymptom in an emergency.
- Answers are partly written by AI. AI can be wrong or incomplete, even with the safety checks we use.
3. Who can use MySymptom
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- You may use MySymptom for yourself, for children in your care, for other people with their permission, and for your pets.
- When you add someone else's details, you are responsible for having their permission, or the right to act for them.
4. Your account
- Give accurate information, and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile, Your data.
5. Free service
MySymptom is free to use, with no paid tier. To keep it running for everyone, we limit how many questions can be asked in a period of time. Some public articles may show ads if you agree to them. We may change, pause or stop features, and will try to give notice of important changes.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use MySymptom to harm anyone, or to break the law.
- Try to get around rate limits, send automated or bulk requests, or scrape the service.
- Try to break, probe or overload our systems, or get at other people's data.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or sexual content involving anyone, or any content involving a minor other than for their health care.
- Present MySymptom's answers as advice from a licensed professional.
7. Your content
What you enter stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run MySymptom for you, as the privacy policy explains. If you share a Visit Brief link, anyone with the link can open it until it expires or you revoke it.
8. Our content
The MySymptom name, logo, app and articles belong to MySymptom. You may read, print and share articles for personal, non-commercial use with credit. The logo may be used as described on the brand page. Links to other websites are for information; we don't control them.
9. No warranty
MySymptom is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or right for your situation.
10. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, MySymptom and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the service. Our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Ending use
You can stop using MySymptom at any time. We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes give notice on this site before they apply.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any dispute about these terms or the service will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where the law does not allow it.
